On 14th May 2022, St Peter’s Church in Ruddington was full for the Ruddington and District Choral Society’s Spring concert, “Rejoice in the Lamb.” The choir was smaller than usual, as so many are at the moment due to illness, but gave a confident and musical performance of:
Jenkins – Choral suite from “The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace”
Tippett – Five Spirituals from “A Child of our Time”
Britten – Rejoice in the Lamb
and part-songs by Parry, Elgar and Sullivan.
The choir were accompanied by Michael Overbury, who delighted those present with two organ solos. Paul Hayward was the Musical Director, and we were joined by soloists Grace Bale, Sarah Atkinson, Simon Lumby and James Gaughan.
